Nerd First Aid Courses and Panels

Nerd First Aid is first aid training with a twist. It?s specifically designed for pop culture, sci-fi and anime convention attendees. In a nutshell, Nerd First Aid is about learning skills that could save your or a friend?s life, and having fun while learning them.

Conventions are great, but they can also be chaotic and present some unique health challenges. People don?t get enough sleep, don?t eat properly (admit it, most of us who go to cons have tried to get through a weekend on nothing but coffee and donuts at some point). Do you know what to do if one of your friends starts to feel sick at a convention? Or even suffers a cosplay related injury??

We are a?accredited?American Heart Association?training center that specializes in?serving?the pop culture community. We teach two first aid courses one is a full course called “First Aid for Pop culture convention/event staff and?attendees” Upon?completion of this class you will be certified in First Aid.

The other is called “How to survive the nerd?convention?Apocalypse” This is a basic first aid?familiarization?course with a?emphases?on fun safety issues that pertain to pop culture?conventions.? We teach this course at larger conventions since their are more tight time constraints for panels.

Operation Hammond?s Nerd First Aid courses teaches you vital information and skills you can use to help people in times of need. You?ll learn what to do in the scenarios described above, how to use everyday objects around you to help administer first aid, and all sorts of useful things.
