Announcing the William Hammond Memorial Scholarship and EMT Education Grants
Somerville, MA Operation Hammond is announcing the creation of the William Hammond Memorial Scholarship, and grants for individuals who wish to peruse certification as an Emergency Medical Technician.
This scholarship is named for Civil War General William Hammond, regarded as the father of pre-hospital emergency medicine. Through this scholarship Operation Hammond aims to support the education of individuals who have provided outstanding service to Operation Hammond and the community. The application deadline for this year is Nov 30th, 2015. Individuals may find application information here.
In addition, Operation Hammond is providing grants to members who wish to continue their education and service by becoming certified Emergency Medical Technicians. Emergency Medical Technicians provide the backbone of care for Operation Hammond, and certification provides career opportunities for members looking to continue in the field of emergency medicine.
