“Emergencies can happen anywhere. Even at fan conventions. And often times these conventions don’t have the funds, or have limitations on arranging, for emergency services. In order to solve this issue, James M. Fedora, a New Hampshire native and long-time EMT, founded Operation Hammond.
It is a non-profit organization, formed with the aim to serve the needs of the nerd and pop culture community. Fedora founded the organization in 2012 with the help of his friends.
Operation Hammond is dedicated to providing emergency services, awareness, consulting and training to members of the anime, sci-fi and pop culture convention community. Fedora says it’s an under-served demographic, for which the social and medical welfare isn’t being adequately addressed. Continued….“
